~Be Careful what you name the kids~

In the future, be very careful. Don't bring children into this world only to let them suffer while they are living in the world, which they came into without any choice in the matter. I've heard it time and time again, about the great importance of a name. But today, while studying the book of first Samuel, I found the scripture that makes this statement the word of God. It's found in 1 Samuel 25:25 where Abigail was apologising to David concerning what her husband (Nabal) had done to him (David):

"Please, let not my lord regard this scoundrel Nabal. For as his name is, so is he: Nabal is his name, and folly is with him!"

Please make sure you give your children great names that will make them great in life. Sometimes, people don't understand how bad things could possibly be happening to them, but it cannot be understood at surface level, you have to really look deep into the source. Not that this is the reason for bad things to happen to people, but sometimes bad things happen because people just do not care about the invisible things that control the visible things. People simply do not care to visit their foundations and secure everything in the blood of the Lamb. There's an invisible war constantly taking place between heaven and hell, but we just don't care to know what's really going on. Somewhere else in the bible, it says, "but if the foundations are weak, what can the righteous do?" This means that no matter how good a person may seem to be, if his foundation is bad, this will definitely affect the rest of his life. Is your foundation built on God? Or is it built on idols? Be careful how you lay your foundation, because it will affect your children. Be careful how you name your children and what you profess to them by spoken word, for it will be their life to live...

As a Man's name is, so is He.
Just one more thing to think about as your day goes on...
Piggy-back: The first time I realized the importance of a name was when I sat in the congregation and listened to a message by my beautiful pastor, Pastor Nike Daramy of temple of Praise international. Won't fail to give honor to whom honor is due...I love you for the way you teach me.

Great write up Missy!!

I guess i should use this opportunity to thank my parents for the name they gave me...

With God's help then I'm going to move mountains, cos my name means "nothing is impossible with God".

Have a great weekend dear.

My sentiments exactly - many don't realise how important it is. Hope your new year started with a bang. Remember this is the year when to expect unexpected things. A year of supernatural elevation from where you are now to where God wants you to be. Stay blessed.

@ Vera...yeah definitely (I know u were kidding..lol)

@ Nilla, I love the meaning of your name...there will be no situation that will be impossible for God to solve throughout ur life. My name means "Gain" and I know I'll never suffer any losses.

@ the life of a stranger called me, definitely...Amen...also know that this year is a year of multiple harvests and divine visitation from God. It's a year when the TRUE sons of God will be distinguished from those who don't know who they are...the sifting of the wheat from the chaff...

All in all, the conclusion is that there are so many spiritual things that many don't know, and they just shrug their shoulders, dust it off, and keep on living in this thing called "life"...but these things are in full operation and people need to know before all hell lets loose, lest they say no one warned them...

you're so right...i know someone who was given a name by his grandfather (based on circumstances surrounding the birth) and it was quickly changed by his mom...stated she cant name her child that... there are definitely spiritual forces around that ppl dont seem to acknowledge... even be careful what you say out... re:having children...getting married...things of that nature...
