~The cold windy saturday, Sophism, & busy bodies~

It's a cold and windy saturday
I wanna be under my warm blanket
Just me and my blanket...
I want some hot tea...
I want some white and black chocolate cubes...
I want starbucks frapuccino...
I want more strawberries...
But unfortunately its just me, my blanket, and my books...
Cos I'm not even going to comprehend the thought of stepping out...
Its a very dark and scary world outside...

While munching my hot and dazzling red berries (10 min study break), I caught a glimpse of a word (u guys already know I have this new craze for new words). Yup, its called 'Sophism," which is defined as an argument that is based on a lie or a fallacy, one that proves ur ingenuity, and one that is used plainly for the notion of deceiving others. I like the word, but I don't like the meaning. Blogsville folk, hope none fall under this category as you blog about various experiences & trials. Blogging is good, but be careful not to manipulate others with lies though.

I have used sophism in sheer manipulation so many times I play scrabble, and I almost always get caught (my face has the tendency of giving things away). I use it when I form words that may not really exist, but they sound like they could be words.


Anyways, before I exit back to study mode, let me share somn wonderful that I read from the 'daily sword,' this morning (with my own synopsis added in the last few lines).

It's called, "MIND UR BUSINESS"

In John 21:15-22, Jesus had just finished telling Peter that He would be in charge of bringing many into the kingdom of God (a.k.a the "feed my lambs if you love me" speech), when Peter abruptly asked, "Lord, and what shall this 'other man' do?", Jesus basically replied and said, "if I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me..."

We all have our own calling and responsibilities that God has told us personally to do for His kingdom. More than ever before, we must focus on our own calling and not get busy with minding other peoples calling! In other words, mind your business Peter and concentrate on your call. Work towards fulfilling you purpose in life and don't get busy minding another man's purpose. It is called 'busy body.' There's a style in ministering to others. The way people would come to know God is not if you manipulate them and force the words down their throat. But when they see the tactics you use in achieving your own purpose, when they watch your own character for a while, without any force they will indeed want to know your God. I don't see how anyone can seek the God of a purposeless Christian without any destiny.

I loved my devotion this morning and it's a nice food for thought...have a great marvelous weekend guys...get under ur blankets like moi! Lazy bones me!
