***This post is part of the friday verse series. This friday may you come to the realization that when you run back into God's arms, you WILL be kissed***
Remember the story I narrated two posts ago about how Amnon raped his sister Tamar (because of a little white lie that became a hypothesis, and then a full-blown theory)? So basically, what happened after that was that Tamar's immediate brother, Absalom, got mad at mr. Amnon the rapist, and he eventually killed him for what he did to his sister, for taking away her virginity. He was so mad. How could his step-brother do that to their sister? That was unbelievable! He had to do something...he couldn't take it anymore.
After the murder, Absalom fled for his life and did not see his father for years. Until a prophet (Joab) skillfully formed a plot that will bring Absalom back into his father's fold. It would be lovely if you can read the story yourself from 2 Samuel 13 to 14, so that you can grasp the fullness and intensity this story carries. Though Absalom became a murderer, David eventually forgave him when he returned. Reminds me of the parable of the prodigal son...a child who went to a faraway land and departed from his father. But his father kept looking far into the distance, waiting for the day his son would return back to him. And when he returned, he kissed his child...who was lost, but then became found. This is the story of God reconciling back to a child who was lost in the world, but then realized he could find himself again in God's arms.
"And when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king. Then the king (his father) kissed Absalom." 2 Samuel 14:33
***Are you a murderer? A kiss is waiting for you today.
Have you done something that you feel can never be forgiven? A kiss is waiting for you today. This friday, all you need to do is first recognize what you've done, ask for forgiveness, make a determination to change, then run into His loving arms. A KISS is definitely waiting for you***
*Have a happy easter as u dwell on this*
