***The VEIL was on their EYES***

Ever wondered why people read the scriptures time and time again, but they can't really see or comprehend what you're seeing? Ever wondered why you read a line, and then someone else reads that line, but instead they change the whole meaning of that line to suit a selfish purpose? And in the process of changing the meaning, they actually get to a comfort zone where they can boldly declare that, "this thing I'm doing isn't really wrong," even if they CLEARLY saw it in God's word?

Well guess what? Yesterday night I came across a scripture that talks of a certain type of VEIL that covers their eyes to really see what they should be seeing...

"But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" 2 corinthians 4:3-6

In this piece, the 'god of this age' represents the devil. The enemy has accomplished placing veils on the eyes of so many, so that they really do not SEE what they should be SEEING...in other words, they have become BLINDED to the TRUTH...

***Do NOT let him place a VEIL on your EYES
Say NO to the VEIL***

This is very much on point. Many times some people read scriptures and base their interpretation on the literal meaning of what they read, taking only the portion that satisfy their desires. There is a difference between READING the word and UNDERSTANDING it. The Bible is not like any other book. The word of God is consistent. We should make sure our interpretation of the scripture is consistent throughout the word and not try to suit our purpose with one verse. We really need to make sure our spiritual eyes is stripped of all the physical and emotional veils, that way the Holy spirit could help us understand the word and LIVE the word.

"Open thou my eyes, that I may belold wondrous things out of thy law" Ps 119:18. The problem with many people is they do not allow God to open their eyes, they go in with Veils and thus, see only that which their minds want to see and interpret it the way their minds want to interpret. May God open our eyes, that we may indeed see and understand what HE is saying to us. Amen.
This is a great message, Jaycee. On point and in season.
