What is your WORTH? Ten thousand rubies???

"She wasn't fluent in her speech, she wasn't attractive to anyone. At least she felt that way. She looked all around her and beheld beauty every where, but she couldn't grasp it. She couldn't physically hold it. She was in and out of relationships in the twinkle of an eye, no guy understood her worth. So she felt worthless. She felt used. She felt cheap. She didn't understand why she was born into a world such as this one. She was a constant object of discrimination."

But one day, God spoke to her and let her know that until she realized her "WORTH", her life would continually be miserable. "You cannot give what you don't have; if you have not love, you cannot give love and you won't be loved back." When she heard that, she searched within herself to see if she had love. Instead she saw 'unfriendliness,' 'jealousy,' 'despise' and 'deslike of other people.' There are certain things that she had allowed to happen to her because she did not realize her "WORTH." People had used her and trampled upon her because she did not realize her "WORTH." Then she said to God, "how can I find my worth?" and He led her to the following scriptures...

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels, but have not LOVE, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal." 1 cor 13:1 (I love you, so accept My love and fill your heart with My love so that you can freely pour it out on others in return. If you have all the good qualities in the world, but have not love, then you are still WORTHLESS).

"Who can find a virtuous wife? For her WORTH is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her." Proverbs 31:10 (If you don't find your worth, no man will ever love you or respect you the way you should be. But a woman that knows her worth is respected by her husband. You cannot give what you don't have or receive what you have not given. If you don't give love and respect, you will receive neither).

"And the king (David) said to the people, "I also will surely go out (to war) with you myself." But the people answered, "you shall not go out! But you are WORTH more than ten thousand of us now." 2 Samuel 18:2-3.

I still don't know what is was that gave David's army the boldness to say that David was worth more than ten thousand men!!! It was the 'worth' of David. He was a worshipper, a man after God's own heart. He was always seeking the face of God and He was a mighty King and mighty warrior. How can a woman be more precious than rubies? How can her worth be far above those precious stones? The proverbs 31 woman showed a rare kind of love for her husband and her family. You cannot give what you don't have, or receive what you have not given.

At a stage in your life, you have to ask yourself this question, "what is my WORTH? How precious am I to God? How precious am I to my partner, friends, and my family?" If you don't have an answer, you need to re-evaluate yourself and how you live your life. Are u reckless or meticulous? Loving or hateful? The way you live your life will determine whether you are worthy of being respected or whether you should be trampled on and used. A very wise person once said, "you cannot give what you don't have." If you don't have God, then you don't have any worth. You are basically "worthless," for lack of a better word. Our worth lies in the fact that we were created in the image of God...and every day our lives should reflect that WORTH...

How come i'm never 1st on ur blog again Jaycee? Before i blink my eye, oluwaNIYI has commented already. U people are doing ojoro o and i no go gree at all.

Back to the post, gal u're so on point. When u don't realize ur worth, in other words, who u are in Christ Jesus u'll be looking to find ur worth in things (possessions)and people. You open yourself up to be used, u become vulnerable to the wrong people.

We can only realize our worth in God, afterall it is in him we live, move and have our being. I'm God's splitting image, so all haters can keep on hating 'cos i'll forever radiate in the beauty of his holiness. God bless u for this word in season. I really needed a re-affirmation of what i already know.

@ Niyi...I like that, "people see u the way u see urself..." That's so true!!! If u see urself as a fool, people will see u as a fool. If u think u're unserious...then indeed people will also assume u're the most unserious person ever!

@ Cherub...we're not doing ojoro now. Ki lo n' se le??? Lollll. Thank God for the reaffirmation dearie...we have to know how much we're worth, so we can say no to worthlessness!

Cheers to a sweet day ahead, both of u...

light-her-lamp...how true. If only we knew our real worth, we wouldn't have so many self-esteem issues in our society. Your words are always very inspiring..can't say that enough.

True word,
You can't fully come into yourself,if you donot understand your worth, you have to be connected with your source(God) to appreciate this worth.
