Psalm 29:4-5 "The voice of the LORD is powerful; The voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars, yes, the LORD splinters the cedars of Lebanon..."
Ferocious:
When God speaks you hear the sound of...
The voice of thunder
The voice of many waters
The voice of many earthquakes
The voice that spoke and the red sea split
The voice that split the river Jordan into two separate entities
The voice that spoke and the storms became still
The voice that commands the four winds of the earth to blow...
Soft:
When God speaks you hear the sound of...
The voice of quiet waters
The voice of a still soft wind
The voice of a babe in the womb
The voice of leaves rustling in a burning bush
The voice of a hand writing on the wall
The voice of writings on a scroll
The voice of a dream in the still of the night...
The voice as of one walking in the garden of Eden in the evening...
Mighty:
When God speaks you hear the sound of...
The voice of the Mighty warrior in battle
The voice of the Commander-in-chief of the army of heaven
The voice of the One on a white horse with a secret name
The voice of the Prince of Peace
The voice of the King of Kings
The voice of the Lord of Lords
The voice of the Lord of all the hosts of heaven
The Voice of the God of Joshua and David, mighty warriors...
Powerful:
When God speaks you hear the sound of...
The Voice of One Who has all authority
The Voice of One who has all dominion
The Voice of One who has the power to create
The Voice of One who has the power to speak life
The Voice of One who commands the day
The Voice of One who said "Let there be light," and there was...
This voice is so multifaceted...sometimes soft, and sometimes strong
Sometimes gripping and sometimes liberating
Sometimes rugged and sometimes smooth
You can't really know until you experience all sides...
But you have to listen to hear His voice always
You have to listen to whatever side of His voice He presents to you
...sometimes soft and sometimes loud...
1 kings 19:11-13
"Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

**The google picture on the top right is an example of a "cedar of Lebanon," it is known historically as a coniferous tree; found in the Mediterranean region (Lebanon). The cedar of Lebanon trees were used in historical times to build trade and military ships, as well as houses and temples. It also had sacred functions for Egyptians and Jews (wikipedia). As depicted in the picture, it is a huge tree, taller than most...but God's voice is recorded in psalms as having the capacity to split the cedars of Lebanon, no matter how strong.**
