***Where You there when He did it???*** (the questions no one can answer)

Every day the struggle never seems to end. Every day we move like chess board pieces from one thing to the other. Every day we receive a blessing, and the next day a curse. Then we rebuke the curse and it goes away. With every brand new day a new task arises. At the end of every day an old task is accomplished. Every day we wake up, we smile and peak at the radiant sun. As we go to bed at night, the smiles which become frowns at mid-day have the opportunity to be found once again as they become drenched in the sweet satisfaction of rest.

But when will it ever end?

Just like Job, I'm wondering today. The reason why I am here on earth is not to work hard and satisfy my soul. Solomon recorded this as "vanity." In order words, all the days of man spent toiling and suffering for self-satisfaction is all VANITY. All the days spent going in the opposite direction from the direction God wants you to move is all VANITY. In order words, what's not vanity involves me seeking my Creator and asking Him why He created me. Do you know why He made you? There's no use telling God what you think you shd be doing. We shd do the reverse...ask Him to guide us to our purpose. No need to prove you're smart and wise, and that you don't need His damn help at all.

Just like He asked a man in the bible named Job, God is asking you today, "where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?" Its a very simple question, yet so complex. And you can go ahead and answer. I was born in the 80s, I wasn't there when He seperated the sea from the land, when He placed the stars in the sky, when He told the ocean currents that they could only come thus far...and they obeyed...when He said loudly, "let there be LIGHT," and till this very day even 'light' obeyed His voice and has not disappeared...

These are the various questions He's asking us tonight (extracted from Job 38):

* Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?

* Who determined its measurements?

* To what were its foundations fastened?

* Or who laid its cornerstone?

* Who shut in the sea with doors when it burst forth and issued from the womb?

* When I said, 'this far you may come, but no farther, and here your proud waves must stop.'

* Have you commanded the morning since your days began?

* Have you caused the dawn to know its place?

* Have you entered the springs of the sea?

* Or have you walked in search of the depths?

* Have the gates of death been revealed to you?

* Or have you seen the doors of the shadows of death?

* Where is the place of darkness?

* Have you entered the treasury of snow?

* Or have you seen the treasury of hail?

* By what way is light diffused?

* Or the east wind scattered over the earth?

I'm going to stop here right now because I am in AWE and amazement, and I'm still trying to comprehend something bigger than my own strength. Maybe I will never really understand the fullness. But it will surely keep me going. It will surely put my problems to rest, since I know I can't solve them on my own. To get a complete feel of the depth of questions...dig into the word. God just wanted him to know that the world was not merely an artifact...

...and it really isn't...
...but we are here to stay...
...and we are here to find the reason why we're staying...
...and find it we must...
...everyone repping club 400 must find their purpose...
...everyone on the team must DO their purpose...
...and we will...
...YES...we will...

All I Need Is You (Hillsong United)

Really...all we need is Him. If you have Him, then you have EVERYTHING. No need to clamor for the things others are clamoring for because you have it all already.

It's You Lord...

***Nobody Knows me like He does*** (Friday verse series)

**This post is part of my new friday verse series. This is post #3***

Psalm 139: 13-16 "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them."

Doesn't it feel good when you have someone that loves you, who claims he knows you better than you know yourself. Thats when all the girls get squirmy and all lovey-dovey & puppydog-eyed. He can even complete your sentences before you're through the 3rd word in the sentence. He doesn't need to pay you a penny for your thoughts, he already knows them because any time you stand before him, it feels as though he sees your naked soul...even without uttering a word...

Although these descriptions can fit two people involved in a relationship, there's Someone greater who it can fit more perfectly. In human relationships, there's always some sort of gap. Yes, your partner may know you very well, but there are times when you want to scream and ask him why he didn't figure something out about you a long time ago...considering the fact that you two have been together for a long time...

But in that scripture, God reveals to us that He knows the depths of our hearts like the back of His hand. "For He formed my inward parts," there's no part of your body God doesn't understand, He created it.

"In Your book, they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them..." basically, even before you started living one day, God took a pen and wrote about you. He knew the part of your vessel that could make you cry, and He knew the people that would break you and those that could make you. He knew you had the ability to be hot-tempered, but with the right touch you would get back to normal again. He already went ahead of you to see when that break-up would happen...to see when you would get married...to see how and what you would name your children. He is ahead of the game...He sees you becoming more mature every single day...

***Since He knows you more, why don't you love Him more?***

And He answered me...AGAIN!!!

Oh my gosh.....I'm gushing all over right now. I've been singing, jumping, parading and dancing all over my room. The thing is I prayed to God last night concerning something really urgent...AND THE DEADLINE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TOMORROW. It was the plan of the devil that I was supposed to be distraught, dilapidated, and extremely sorrowful tomorrow. But guess what? God is ALWAYS ON TIME...and He came right at the last minute today to rescue me.
People, there's nothing like an ON-TIME God. He will never let His children lack for any thing. If your deadline is 100 days, and you are in the 99th day and you still haven't received an answer...don't give up. Don't quit even at the last second. Even if He shows up in the 23rd hour out of 24 hours, He always shows up at the BEST TIME!!! Don't go looking for other sources...you won't find anything as rewarding as God's love in any other place. He is my JOY-BRINGER. He is the LIFTER OF MY HEAD.
I just had to SHOUT!

***Whatever you are waiting on God for...He WILL answer you. But don't give up on Him because He hasn't given up on you***

***CLUB 400...a.k.a the Valiant Four hundred (new in town)***

So, guess what? My exam went great. I felt a feeling of accomplishment when I was done. I felt like staying up for the WHOLE night was worth it...he he he. Got back yesterday and slept like a log of wood. Logs don't budge, even when insects are biting and scratching their barks...they just don't budge. No element of alarm clocks or phones ringing off the hook (even with my Caribean dance ring tone) could wake me up...

I'm alert now...fully on my toes...up and doing! Ready to join CLUB 400. So have you even heard of club 400? You probably haven't heard of this club. Lolll...if you haven't, well let me use this opportunity to introduce you to club 400. Club 400 is made up of various men and women all over the world...people from different races and ethnic groups. People who see their goal at the opposite side of the ocean, and are determined to cross over...by crook or by hook...I nick-named this CLUB...and this is the tenet of the club:

"So David went, he and six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Brook Besor, where those stayed who were left behind. BUT David pursued, he and FOUR HUNDRED MEN, for two hundred stayed behind, who were so weary that they could not cross Brook Besor..." 1 Samuel 30:9

So you can see why I call this new thing in town "club 400?" 400 is the number. Its the number of relentless, courageous, determined, bold, brave, convicted, dauntless, fearless, indomitable, intrepid, persistent, purposeful, self-confident, steadfast, audacious, unafraid, and valiant people. It's the number of people that won't get LEFT BEHIND.

The remaining 200 folk knew that being strong mattered. But they decided to give up the fight. They told David not to worry, they'd stay back and watch the kids at home. They didn't want to die on the battle field. They wanted the 400 to go ahead and leave them behind. After all, they fought the last war and needed to relax and chill this time. They were scared of the things ahead. But most of all, they allowed weakness to overcome them. They allowed defeat to bring them down on their weak knees.

The 400 were really not the strongest people. They weren't champions, and neither were they superheroes. But they trusted in something that was higher than their human power...and decided to cross the river. They decided to go to war.

"Many are called, but only few are chosen," no one will fight your spiritual war for you. You can't rely on the prayer warriors and the pastors. There's someone that wants to defeat your purpose even before you finally make the decision to go to the altar. Don't chill or relax, you're invited to join CLUB 400...and the time is NOW!

The Easiest Wooden Tool...you wouldn't believe it.

Today, as I sat there in the congregation, I heard those words tumble out of his mouth and I cringed in awe as he talked about what I call, 'the easiest wooden tool.' When you think about tools, they are usually big huge things that require the strength of strong buff masculine muscles (preferably from a 6-pack muscular body) to operate. At least that's what comes into my mind immediately I hear, "tool." Yeah, call me 'lazy,' but its true! But today, I found the easiest tool that can be operated by anyone...weak or strong, masculine or feminine, white or black...or even polka dot. Whichever way you come...its for one and its for all...

...it's the yoke of Jesus...for while He was on earth, He made an alter call and said...

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:29-30

Dwell on this...you may think it's a hard thing to want to LOVE God so much that it will make you leave all your desires behind...that you'll leave everything you have and earn, just to know a God who is invisible. You may think it's foolish to live your well-preserved world to join the crowd of heavenly junkies who act mad and act as if they have lost their minds claiming they've found their most prized possession.

But all you need is this EASY wooden tool...all you need is to take the tool...take the yoke...for when you've done so, you'll find rest...LET GO and LET GOD! How abt YOU try to act 'crazy' too. What's up with the hulla balloo? don't you even want to try finding out? How easy is His yoke? You wouldn't know...

**Inspired to tell you, after hearing the message of His yoke**

~The cold windy saturday, Sophism, & busy bodies~

It's a cold and windy saturday
I wanna be under my warm blanket
Just me and my blanket...
I want some hot tea...
I want some white and black chocolate cubes...
I want starbucks frapuccino...
I want more strawberries...
But unfortunately its just me, my blanket, and my books...
Cos I'm not even going to comprehend the thought of stepping out...
Its a very dark and scary world outside...

While munching my hot and dazzling red berries (10 min study break), I caught a glimpse of a word (u guys already know I have this new craze for new words). Yup, its called 'Sophism," which is defined as an argument that is based on a lie or a fallacy, one that proves ur ingenuity, and one that is used plainly for the notion of deceiving others. I like the word, but I don't like the meaning. Blogsville folk, hope none fall under this category as you blog about various experiences & trials. Blogging is good, but be careful not to manipulate others with lies though.

I have used sophism in sheer manipulation so many times I play scrabble, and I almost always get caught (my face has the tendency of giving things away). I use it when I form words that may not really exist, but they sound like they could be words.

Anyways, before I exit back to study mode, let me share somn wonderful that I read from the 'daily sword,' this morning (with my own synopsis added in the last few lines).

It's called, "MIND UR BUSINESS"

In John 21:15-22, Jesus had just finished telling Peter that He would be in charge of bringing many into the kingdom of God (a.k.a the "feed my lambs if you love me" speech), when Peter abruptly asked, "Lord, and what shall this 'other man' do?", Jesus basically replied and said, "if I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me..."

We all have our own calling and responsibilities that God has told us personally to do for His kingdom. More than ever before, we must focus on our own calling and not get busy with minding other peoples calling! In other words, mind your business Peter and concentrate on your call. Work towards fulfilling you purpose in life and don't get busy minding another man's purpose. It is called 'busy body.' There's a style in ministering to others. The way people would come to know God is not if you manipulate them and force the words down their throat. But when they see the tactics you use in achieving your own purpose, when they watch your own character for a while, without any force they will indeed want to know your God. I don't see how anyone can seek the God of a purposeless Christian without any destiny.

I loved my devotion this morning and it's a nice food for thought...have a great marvelous weekend guys...get under ur blankets like moi! Lazy bones me!

Lets not wait till the water runs dry...

Another reflection on songs I love...check the next boys II men video (next blog post) as well...

I can anticipate the love junkies screaming..."I used to sing this back in d day" Yeah, me too...we can still sing it now sha! It's here!

The Familiar Friend Verse (Friday verse series)

*This post is part of my "friday verse" series* This is only the second friday verse post...follow up every friday...

Psalm 41: 9 "Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me."

So this friday, beware of the 'familiar friend' phenomenon. It's not just everyone that is familiar with you that can be called your true friend. People think close friends are the ones you tell all your secrets too. No, I'm sorry to tell u but u're dead wrong. Be careful abt people clamoring for GISTS! Your close friends are those who when you're in dire need are ready to give up all they have for you, and these ones are RARE. They don't jump on your beds every second of the day. They are not the bug-aboos. They don't have to talk to you every second on the phone for you to see their hearts. You'll be shocked at what so-called familiar friends can do.
You'll be so shocked left, right, and center. Let ONLY God be your Rock and your Strong Tower. He's the only One that can show you the heart of your friends, and thats only if you already have a relationship with your Father. Without a relationship, how will you get to that point of knowing what man cannot reveal to you? You can't have wisdom or direction with your own abilities. Without having God's love, how will you know what TRUE LOVE means? If a girl's daddy does not tell his daughter, "I love you," then every Tom, Dick and Harry might as well say it...and she'll believe! Either ways, forgive them (familiar friends), for they are only human. Even the Word says, "cursed is anyone who puts their trust in another man." So at the end of the day, the choice lies in your hands. We all have so many limitations, so why not just put your trust in the One who can never fail you...who, unlike your various familiar friends here and there, has NO LIMITATIONS...

My NEW Cardio training...12 more pounds!

I've just been told I need to get 12 pounds more on my body before I can fall into the healthy range. Goshhhhhh.....whatttt???? Thats according to my BMI index. I tell you, it's this school and the study habits. They have to DIE. And I hereby declare that they are going to die this year. I have to get back into regular eating patterns, and I have to start exercising from this week.

I've done my research now...the trainer has told me AEROBIC EXCERCISE is the best for ladies...yeah, and it's fun too. The best thing about it is that I can alternate whatever I wanna do...I can go bicycling, walking, jogging, swimming, or pretty much any thing else (because I get bored really easily, so it's nice to know I can change plans once in a while). As far as I keep my heart rate elevated during the 30 minutes I'll be working out (every other day of the week).

Then I've got to learn how to get my grains in my tummy for breakfast (recommended for me are cereal bars and lots of oatmeal). Then in the afternoon, in addition to whatever lunch I eat, I've been told to always add FRUIT to the menu. Geez...I'm in for some fun...I think I'm gonna love it.

If u guys have any ideas & TIPS, pls hit me up...cos I need to care about my body this year...it's the temple of God. (*winks*).

~Remembering The Chronicles of Narnia~

I enjoyed the movie very much last year. The writer of the original book, "the Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe," changed lives forever. I read the book as well when I was little, so trust I was one of the first who saw the movie.

The Lion: the symbol of Jesus, basically embodies how Jesus was sacrificed to save the world (Aslan was sacrificed to save Narnia, but he resurrected to assume his throne).

The children: represents each one of us in this journey called life. The fights and the courage to have the fights.

The crowns: represents the reward we will have at the end of the journey, when we will receive our individual crowns after our names have been recognized in the book of life.

The witch: represents obstacles in life.

~All about MONA's "M" Word~

lollll...so I went blog-hunting today during my study break (somn I hardly ever get to do) and amusingly I stumbled on somn sweet regarding a topic I like to talk about a LOT...
It's about the "M" word...

What've have u got to say abt that? You can go ahead and ask MONA @ her SPOT RIGHT HERE ...lol

The funny thing is she didn't really emphasize any thing big, it was just the sweet nothings about the post that made it exciting to read, oh well...read it for urself, and decide what stage u are...

ps: today has been a very lovely day...I'm just enjoying the moment. Yeah, like one of my earlier posts said, "just live each day to the fullest," and continue from there. It's always nice to take a chill pill, slouch back on a comfortable arm-chair, sing songs (or hum to songs), maybe study (or NOT), and the most important of all, just reflect on ur innermost thoughts. I wonder what people do when they don't....errr...think! *Ouch* I totally dread the state of a 'blank mind.' It's very futile and wasteful...even Job knew there was such a thing as the strength of wisdom in the mind...

Job 38:36

"Who has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding to the heart?"

Hope y'all are having the most wonderful day. Stay away from idleness and having a blank mind. Think back at a time when ur mind was totally empty (zero/blank). It was a horrible experience right? Put your intelligence to work...today...
Just a lil interesting side gist: maybe this nice stuff I found on the New York Times today will help bloggers who are finding telling the truth on blogger a lil bit crazy. It talks about how this is the age of dissonance and the truth must be told, but still as manners require some things shd be left un-said: go HERE. (comment on what u think if u read the article)

Signed: urs truly.

~Just Imagine Me~

Just imagine you, being free from all the heart-ache. Imagine you being free from depression. Imagine you, being free from discrimination. Imagine you being free from your flesh. The devil's plans for your life is to put so much burden on ur shoulders, so much that you can't definitely carry on ur own. The only way, or so it may seem, would be to vent out all the anger and hurt, in empty words that have been so intricately designed to hide the hurt inside, just to retaliate on someone else who was only just an innocent by-stander. But God is saying NO today. He's saying Jesus already died for you and its time for you to be free. Enough is enough.

Be free TODAY of anger, malice, rape, child molestation, disease, pain, suffering, back-biting, hate, depression, and loneliness. Common, it's time to stop hiding every hurt. Get off ur beds and try God this time. You may have tried before and gotten discouraged because someone you trusted yet again disappointed you. Yes, even someone that claimed to be a so-called ‘Christian.’ That’s why Christianity is not in the name, but in the heart. Yes, another filthy plan of the devil to get u right back where u started. You gotta get back up again though. Try Him...its not about who has deceived u in the past. It's not about RELIGION. Those people who talk abt 'religion' obviously don't know what they're talking abt! It's all abt YOU, YOU, YOU. Ask urself what u're searching for and pray to your Creator. If u're not sure who your Creator is, tell whoever it is to reveal Himself personally to you and teach you how to recognize His voice.

He's ready for you, but are you ready for Him? Are you ready to LET GO??? I remember when I had to make that decision to let go and let God. If I can do it, then you can do it too. Don't relent...

~The grand HOOPLA~

Luvin the title! One may wonder what "hoopla" means. Lolll, the first time I came across the word, it was on this gigantic card I bought for a friend whilst planning her 20th surprise birthday party, and I made everyone sign off on it. It just seemed like an exciting word, and the card said 'happy birthday' in the middle so I kinda figured out that I was on the right track.

"Hoopla" can be defined as 'sensational or extravagant publicity/celebration/glorification.' It is a synonym of the word 'promotion.' A feeling of euphoria when you've done something good in the public eye, and u're very elated, and you indeed get approval from people who have the power to raise you to a higher position amongst your peers.

There was someone in the Bible who got an extreme HOOPLA...his name was Daniel, renamed as Beltshazzar by the king of his time, king Nebuchadnezzar. And that leads me to the shocked state I am in this morning, as I just read the last line in the chapter. I just could not believe my eyes. Ok, the story in daniel chapter 2 was that the king had a very disturbing dream and he called all the wise men, astrologers, magicians, and soothsayers to interprete the dream. But the catch was he wanted them to tell him what he dreamt before they interpreted it, so that he'll know whether they were fake or not. They begged and pleaded for the king to tell them the dream first so that they could interprete, but the king demanded that they were liars since they could not tell him the dream first. Until Daniel walked into the picture and saved the day...he inquired from His God (my God) who tells deep secret things to His sons and daughters, and in the night God told Daniel the dream, and Daniel called God, "the Revealer of deep and secret things."

But what is my point? My point is that this was a shocking day for the whole of the kingdom, and there was indeed a lot of "HOOPLA," in the air (a boisterous excitement and sensational publicity for Daniel). But I dare say that the most shocking line was the last line in the last paragraph...

Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him. The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.” Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon...but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

Listen to this..."But Daniel SAT in the GATE of the king". In those days, anyone who sat at the GATE and not even inside the king's court was considered to be the least in the kingdom. So Daniel's sitting at the gate showed how despite all the promotion, gifts, and hoopla he received from the king...the way to more promotion is to be more humble, for he knew that it wasn't by his own power that he interpreted that dream...but by God revealing it to him at night.

How many of us at school or at our work places get carried away by all the HOOPLA made about our fine skills and character. How many of us after our promotions lord it over others who were formerly in the same boat? I know that despite the fact that Daniel went to sit at the gates (considering himself to still be a servant), as you continue reading about him, you will see that he continued to get even more promotion and more hoopla. So I dare say today that the way up is to go down first...in humility...first, we need to understand that those things we clamor for (money, riches, and fame) are given to us by God and are not as a result of our goodness or hardwork...they are gifts to us from God. There are many people who worked so hard and still are not at the level where u are today. So if we are boisterous and prideful about these things, thats when the saying "pride goes before a fall" will come into place."
"So let us celebrate with the HOOPLA, but remember the SOURCE always."

~Live ur life for TODAY~

Have u ever considered living ur life just for TODAY? Sharing LOVE with the people that matter most to you before it's too late? We have to let things of the past GO...and let things of the future come to us at the perfect time...by living our lives ONE DAY AT A TIME...and enjoying EACH MOMENT like we've never had that moment before...

On My Knees

It's a beautiful saturday morning. Hmmm...today has already started out great, I've got plans to study lectures from this week and silly me, feeling like an interior decorator I'm deciding to take some catalogues and go over to my friend's house and redesign her room. That shd be THE exciting highlight of the day. Lolll...maybe I'll take some pictures of the finished product and post them later...

But for now, this is a song to reflect on while I work on somn new 4 the blog...the place we need to be most of the time, instead of spending the whole day worrying abt nothing, is right there on bended knees...

Cheers amigos!

The Right Side of the Boat?

"And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some."" John 21:6a

It wasn't until my sweet charming little blue 'daily sword' devotional made me observe that line more closely, that I finally realized I had been reading it wrong all along. I promise you I thought Jesus had always said "cast ur net on the right-hand side of the boat." Saying the "right side" leaves the door open for many possibilities. Wow, you can never get ENOUGH with the word. It just keeps getting better and better. Did you catch it yet? Jesus didn't say, "right-hand side," but He said "right side" instead. I now know why...guess what? The right-hand side of the boat is always very obvious (depending on where u're standing inside the boat of course, but at least you can always tell your right-hand side from your left abi?), but the RIGHT SIDE of the boat is definitely not always obvious. The right side of the boat is not necessarily the side everyone thinks is right. The right-hand side of the boat is not necessarily the 'right' choice either. It sounds like PUN (playing with words), but it isn't! Think about it. It's the reason why you see people who seem like they have it all, but in the twinkle of an eye you're wondering why they're sitting in their own pool of blood asking themselves the very dreaded question, "what if I had done things another way?" It's like the old concept of making a wise decision that seems right in your own eyes, so you just jump right to a head start with your decision rather than seeking "wise counsel" first...

When I read that I kept thinking that there are several ways to get to the top, but only the person who uses the "right" method to get to the top would have peace at the end of the day. There are so many people who are successful today that don't have peace because they got to the top by casting their nets into the wrong side of the boat. What is the right side? The right side is different for you and I. The right side could be 'A' for me, and it could be 'B' for you...but you'll never know until you listen to the voice of Jesus telling you in the same tone that he told his disciples that fateful night by the sea shore..."cast your net on the right side"...

You will know the right side by having a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with your Father, because He reveals SECRETS to His sons...

"I would do anything for love..."

LOLLLL....reminiscing abt this back in the day song. Do u guys remember this line? "I would do anything for love, I'll run right thru hell and back...."

Lolll....gosh, when I was in high school I used to love all these romantic songs like crazy...seriously, who'll run right thru hell and back for love? So if they wanted to amputate ur boyfriend/girlfriend's leg, would u gladly take their place??? I didn't think so...

Alright, I know the guy was just singing in retrospect, but I just had a moment of reflection...as in I was walking to get lunch before my next class (which by the way is about to start right now), and I suddenly found myself singing, "I would do anything for love...I'll run right thru hell and back," and I was just wondering how that song came into my big (small) head...hmmm...

"And I swear, by the moon and the stars in the sky...I'll be there...and I swear, by the shadows that lie by ur side...I'll be there....for better or worse, till death do us part....(I usually scream in this next part) I'll love with EVERYTHING THING IN MY HEART....and I swear..." ha ha ha....all these songs sha...

"To acknowledge"...finally solved the puzzle!!!

Oh, the sudden understanding of a word I have been using for a while now is a beautiful thing. On a serious note, remember this scripture that says, "trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowlegde Him, and He shall direct your paths?" (Proverbs 3:3-7).

Well, today as I read my little blue book (the daily sword, a devotional)...I stopped at the word "acknowledge," and I automatically did my usual flip to dictonary.com. Like always, any time I check a word, I feel like I'm just learning the word for the first time! To acknowledge something or someone means, "to admit that something is true or real, to recognize that it exists, to express or show recognition of it, to recognize the authority, and to show or express gratitude for it."

So really, why am I excited? Because basically, proverbs 3 is telling me that acknowledging God is not just merely bobbing my head up and down in answer to the question, "do you believe in God?" Its not just about going to church so that everyone can openly see I'm a Christian. It's way more than that. It says that in ALL my ways, I should acknowledge Him. This means that everything I do and everything I say shd "EXPRESS and SHOW recognition of the fact that I know He exists in my life." The way I act every single day to everyone I associate with, according to the definition of "acknowledge" should "EXPRESS GRATITUDE for God being in my life, or merely just SHOW RECOGNITION of His presence in my life."

And when I am done with my various acknowledgements and trophies, the end of the scripture then adds that, "and He shall direct my paths." Wow, it's so funny how I've suddenly found the keys to "direction"...I have finally solved the puzzle, I have finally grasped the concept of a focused directed person...all you have to do is "acknowledge Him." Tell the world that "I know my Redeemer Liveth." And tell them what and what He's done for me, time and time again, without me deserving any of it...

It's very simple (esp since I'm not one of those shy people who can't acknowledge exactly how they feel about certain things e.g romance, lol), Scsssshewwwwww...I'm in LOVE!!!!!! Someborrrrrriii stop meeee....

~Inventor of Instant Ramen Noodles Passes away~

"Ando Momofuku, Father of the Instant Ramen, passed away on January 5th at the age of 96. He concocted the idea for Instant Ramen after WWII (world war II), hoping to reduce the amount of poor nourishment for soldiers in the field. If not for this great man, many a poor college student and programmers would have starved over the years. From the article: 'In 1971, Nissin introduced the Cup Noodle featuring instant ramen in a waterproof plastic foam container

May his soul rest in peace.

I still have one pack of ramen noodles in my ktchen...

~Poetry: Indifference, Not an Option~

This poem was written by my friend "A" today, as she reflected on Darfur, which was her original inspiration for the poem. But as I read it, I fell in love with the poem, because it began to divulge into different aspects of life...about how no one cares any more about what they belive in, or more like no one cares any more to take a STAND on several issues going on around the world.

(The Line has been drawn: Choose)

I finally woke up from a dream to an illusion
From a terrible world to the innocence of man’s heart
I finally realized that that delusion
Encompassed the world of reality from the start

Where the Lines have been so blurred
Man cannot even tell what is right, what is wrong
Where fashionable religions are now preferred
To the proven truth, that is now my soul’s song

The insouciance of mankind
Is really the fetus that nurtures tragedies
When our “reality” becomes so blind
That democracy and fairness is all it now sees

What about the famine, the damnation: this breeding grief
Can’t we all see our brothers & sisters dying from man’s politics?
Let’s not now talk about souls dying just for false relief
From this “oh so perfect world” our minds now depict

Indecisiveness cannot become our mantra
Less we become spewed waste from the mouth of God
We should be either Pro or Contra
Eliminating liberalism in a world so absurd

Indifference is not an option. Where do you stand?

Revelation 3: 14-16
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."

Isn't it daunting that even God would prefer you to make a choice of white or black, instead of GRAY?

~Be Careful what you name the kids~

In the future, be very careful. Don't bring children into this world only to let them suffer while they are living in the world, which they came into without any choice in the matter. I've heard it time and time again, about the great importance of a name. But today, while studying the book of first Samuel, I found the scripture that makes this statement the word of God. It's found in 1 Samuel 25:25 where Abigail was apologising to David concerning what her husband (Nabal) had done to him (David):

"Please, let not my lord regard this scoundrel Nabal. For as his name is, so is he: Nabal is his name, and folly is with him!"

Please make sure you give your children great names that will make them great in life. Sometimes, people don't understand how bad things could possibly be happening to them, but it cannot be understood at surface level, you have to really look deep into the source. Not that this is the reason for bad things to happen to people, but sometimes bad things happen because people just do not care about the invisible things that control the visible things. People simply do not care to visit their foundations and secure everything in the blood of the Lamb. There's an invisible war constantly taking place between heaven and hell, but we just don't care to know what's really going on. Somewhere else in the bible, it says, "but if the foundations are weak, what can the righteous do?" This means that no matter how good a person may seem to be, if his foundation is bad, this will definitely affect the rest of his life. Is your foundation built on God? Or is it built on idols? Be careful how you lay your foundation, because it will affect your children. Be careful how you name your children and what you profess to them by spoken word, for it will be their life to live...

As a Man's name is, so is He.
Just one more thing to think about as your day goes on...
Piggy-back: The first time I realized the importance of a name was when I sat in the congregation and listened to a message by my beautiful pastor, Pastor Nike Daramy of temple of Praise international. Won't fail to give honor to whom honor is due...I love you for the way you teach me.

Friday Verse...

“wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of My sight! Stop doing wrong, learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.”- Isaiah 1:16-17

~Boys that set the standard in 06~

Just my own personal REFLECTION: Geez...during 2006 (especially during my december vacation), I learnt all about boys that know how to set the standard! Never again in this 2007 will I ever encounter any dude who can't meet those standards (seriously). How did I start thinking abt this topic again? Men, my B-R-A-I-N is always in motion, seriously I can't even get bored in this life.

My brain started spinning after a long day of gross anatomy lab. Seriously, I was in the lab today dissecting cadavers like no man's business for a good FOUR HOURS. When I stepped out, my brain was spinning with the names of all sorts of nerves and muscles: myelohyoid, sternohyoid, sternothyroid, thyrohyoid, sternocleidomastoid, internal carotid artery, common carotid artery, phrenic nerve (which is right on top of the anterior scalene muscle)...just to name a few (lol)...oh well, you're reading my blog right now so you have no other choice than to read it (apparently that statement shd let you know that any time I try to tell my friends about it they shut me up...he he...opportunity comes but once).

So ehen, as I was saying...so since I was done with lab work, my brain decided to take a break...and what did it come up with? The most crazy thoughts ever. It was busy reflecting on "standards" that some dudes had the GUTS to set last year, to the utter disappointment and regret of the other dudes left hanging:

* The guy who bought my friend (his girlfriend) a classy new car.

* The guy who made breakfast for all the ladies in da house when we went over (and that breakfast was......ahhhhh....indescribable). Now I can't bother to step down to any guy who can't cook EVER in my life again. You must be dreaming! Cooking is the in thing now...it's no longer the other way around! Take it or get dumped!

* The guy who was so disciplined last year that he made me wanna go to the gym...(no comment on this one, but me I like disciplined guys sha, meaning that if he remains this disciplined he'll be fit for life, and basically in the future all his children will be fit too, because he will train them right).

* The guy who played the melodic tunes of a trumpet during his wedding thanksgiving ceremony...then he now brought a bouquet of roses at the end of the jamz (very cheesy, but bold...in front of everybody...lol)

* Then what about the "God-fearing guys" I met in 2006? (I can list all of them, and I respect each and every one of them for loving God the way they do). These were the guys who made the decision to walk in a certain path and to choose to do the right thing not bothering about what the general mass of people do, and never once did they look back...men after God's own heart...

Keep being you...

As few as the things they did last year may seem, these guys still set the standards for other guys to follow. I'm proud I met each one of them....in 2007...guys better not go any lower than these, you've gotta start learning how to respect yourselves and ur women...

Alright, my brain is trying to revert back to serious mode...

Scripture on the mind: Hebrews 11:3 "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible... Verse 13 These (Abraham, Sarah, Moses etc) all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them."

"To desire something better in life is to desire something that God is not ashamed to prepare and deliver to you. Proclaim it with your mouth, and receive it by faith" Quote by Me.

High Emotions/Temperature Rising

Lolllll....I remember a song from back in the day that explained how this guy's "temperature was rising," and it seemed so funny back then, but I promise you my temperature is getting really high right now. I feel like I'm on some rollercoaster, and I feel like my heart is being blown away. Ok, maybe it's because I just read some inspiring things...any thing that reminds me of passion blows my heart away.

First, earlier on today, I went to class for the first time this semester (yeah, we start real early), and I felt this strong presence all over me...telling me I could do it...cheering me on and on and on...so I know how true it is when the bible says that we have "a crowd of witnesses" cheering us on in different areas of our lives and daily activities (paraphrasing). I found myself understanding every single thing the professor said, I took down good notes and I was thrilled. It's not like I usually take bad notes or anything, but recently there's just been this newness of ease that I feel in my studies, and I'm sharing this with you because you may be going through some things at this point in your life, but my medical school academical life was not so tremendous before, but everything has changed now. Its been wonderful lately. So I'm saying this openly to bring glory to God...because it's a testimony, and I was created to make His praise glorious.

Secondly, naijagal blogged about some upcoming Nigerian fashionistas ("cranberry") and as I read about them, I sensed PASSION in what they do. Again, like I said before, any time I smell PASSION, I get totally blown.

I know why we can have so much passion that pushes us to a terminal goal.............the reason is that we were created in His image...God is passion in every sense of the word. He had so much passion that He took His time to create each inidividual in a very unique way, so that there is a huge difference between you and I, and still we were all created in one image...His image...so any time someone shows a high sense of creativity in whatever area (arts, science, technology, and so on)...it thrills me...

Thirdly, while praying, again, I felt this unusual presence that I don't feel all the time, and I knew that God's presence was in my room. It's like anything I do now, He's trying to tell me, "don't worry...I'm with you everywhere you go..." He tells me that He's my Shepherd, and that no matter where I fall, He'll pick me up. And that's just the best feeling ever, to know that when you fall, Passion Himself will pick you up to enable you to remain passionate...

Fourthly, as I was typing this, my phone rang, and someone told me some not-to-good-news that happened to them. But what a co-incidence that I get this call as I'm writing about God's presence and strong help being evident any where I turn to. It's just a sign that in this life, there will be ups and downs, but we should never let anything pull us down...in this situation, I know that "this too shall pass," it is WELL. Everything will be fine at the end of the day, its just a matter of time. Nothing is permanent in God's eyes, and no one can stop a man whose destiny has been carved out by God, and whose time is "NOW." What I will say is "don't worry...you'll be laughing soon after all this...trust me...I felt a certain morsel of regret at one time too, but it all changed in the blink of an eye"

"This life is delusional & pigmented...filled with so many colors (dark and bright), but we have the choice to choose the bright colors of life" Quote by Me.

We can say "NO"!

I read this scripture this morning:

Titus 2: 11-14 "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good."

Just sharing the fact that it is very possible to say NO to certain things that our peers are involving themselves with. Set yourselves aside and be smart. If you can't be different and you feel like you have to be just like everybody else, even without knowing why, then you're taking away from the very special person God created you to be. You were created to be royal, and not common...
