Over time, we've tried to use the power of imagination. Like ancient Greeks have deciphered, if there is a god that we don't know about, then his skin must be golden and his reflection must be as bright as the sun, and his name must be Zeus. Also, he would be lonely if he was just by himself so he must have eleven supreme other deities (amongst others) living with him on Mount Olympus, where the immortal gods lived, and they must have different functions because it would be really exhausting for one god to do all the work: Ares (god of war), Aphrodite/Venus (goddess of love), Apollo (god of prophesy, music, and healing), Artemis (virgin goddess of the hunt), Athena (goddess of crafts and domestic arts), Demeter (goddess of agriculture), Dionysus (god of wine), Hephaestus (god of blacksmiths), Hera (goddess of marriage), Hermes (messenger of the gods), Poseidon (god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses), and of course Zeus (the most supreme god).

Modern age has emphasized the fact that with new technology and science, there must be a greater ability to know this unknown God. Scientists and philosophers alike have introduced a 'light' within ourselves, knowledge, wisdom, and self-realization as gods in their own right. You can find it within you! But the more people seek, the less satisfied they get. The more people seek a new technological and scientific god, the less they know.
.
In Acts 17, Paul was walking through the various sheds in the market-place, and he found an inscription that said "To the Unknown God." Immediately, he seized that opportunity to introduce the God that met him on the way to Damascus. The God that sent His son to be crucified for the redemption of the entire world, on a cross that was originally meant for you and me. The God that has ALL power in His hands...non-divisible power (not distributed amongst other gods). The God that has no impossibilities in that when we call upon His Name, He is not too deaf to answer. The God that does not live in man-made temples...
We sometimes search for this God in mere men...in the perfection of a lover or in the trust of a friend. Sometimes we search for Him in the abundance of wealth or in the equivalence of euros, pounds, or dollars. Sometimes we search for Him by having dangerous rushes of adrenaline and getting high on drugs. Yet, all that is left is still a painful dissatisfaction. But just as Paul said in Acts 17:23, I too am saying today, "Therefore I introduce the One whom you worship without knowing." He is the God that you have been seeking and yet He has been there, but you have not understood Him. Today, if you can just look outside your window and see His creations, you will know that man did not mold Him from clay, but He molded the world into what it is today. If you have not done this before and you feel like that person who was worshiping an unknown god, all you need to do is acknowledge the fact that here, on this blog, in this second, you can feel His presence. Don't run away from what you're feeling because what you are feeling is true. There is a God, and He is the Lord Almighty, a Redeemer and Friend.
Today, I ask you to please take one breath from the oxygen He created, and say "Lord, I can feel your presence here, I accept You and want to know You more." And your life will never be the same again. I can stand by that because I've experienced Him.

Lord, i can feel your presence here i accept you and want to know you more.Amen
Thank you
having tried athiesm once, i think i really understand wot u r talking abt. maybe one of d reasons i don't really dwell on tots of Christ, cos den i'd feel too sinful 2 b worthy of being in his presense. but i do know one thing, wen i go 2 church 2 worship there's no doubt in me dat He's there, watching over me, ready 2 make my life perfect if i let him
Very intriguing post.
Thats true..He's everywhere around us. Where we walk, what we talk about, He's there, listening. I feel Him in my house when i'm alone. I have no doubt about that.
It became evident in the moment when i have nightmares, and when i call upon His name, everything calms down. He's gr8!
Thanx for the enlightenment.
I know you are there God.
BEAUTIFUL...beautiful....
nomatter what man does he cannot find God...as d heavens are higher than d earth so are his ways farther from ours"
no scientific knowledge or philosophy or watsoever can aid us in comprehending God!Only by FAITH can we find God....by believing in something we dont see! romans 1;16 the righteous shall live by faith!
jst bliv he is right there accept him into ur heart n seek him in prayer n reading of bible EVERYDAY!that way u maintain a constant relationship with him
God is so simple yet so complex. We know He is there. We can feel Him. We see so many proofs that He is there. We (I) just wish I could physically be in His arms.
For there is a vacuum in every heart, a longing for something more, a desire to know something greater and higher that only God can fill. Only God can satisfy that vacuum ....its so unfortunate that humanity keeps searching for answers and solutions not knowing that they are hidden in God Himself. The bible says that the Spirit Himself teaches us all things and gives us insight into things unknown. To solve these mysteries, we must first know God and go through him. To know God you have to focus on Him....sadly not many are ready to accept that or make the decision.
Lord, I can feel your presence and know you are there.
Lord you are so good
You are worthy of all of our praises
It doesn't matter what the people say
It doesn't matter what our eyes may see
Lord you're the most high
@ Darkelcee: awww...amen.
@ Florida: I totally understand the feeling of being sinful anytime u think abt Christ. Been there before. But I know the reason why we get bad feelings, because He died and bled on a cross for our sins...He suffered the punishments that could have been ours...allowing us to enter into a more intimate relationship with the Father. So how I handle it right now is just to run back into His arms...because the blood of His Son causes His arms to be forever open to receive us again if we ever make any mistakes...when He died on the cross, He said these words, "it is FINISHED!" Forever...
@ Jaybabe: I can feel His presence in my bedroom, in my living room, in the bus, train, car, or street...I felt His presence when I sang songs of worship this morning! Lolll...yes, indeed His presence is everywhere...if we can just take a second to feel it. How r u doing? :)
@ 30+: :)
@ Wellsbaba: very true...
@ Vera: Isn't it funny that we can see His proofs but yet He's invincible. There's a song that says, "Invincible God, Your works are visible." Powerful song!
@ Jem: very sadly...
@ For the Love & Olamild: haleluyahhh!!!!
"There is a God, and He is the Lord Almighty, a Redeemer and Friend"
No truer statement!
Deep sturves.
Indeed we all worship this God knowingly or unknowingly.
I lv u Jesus.
Enjoy ur weekend.
there IS a God...
Thank you for this daily bread. I really felt His presence while reading that.
I am feeling this post. God never foresakes us, he always is there when we are in our darkest hour. He's guidance is even greater in times that we push him away. His love is so unconditional, its inspiring.
Loved this post.
i am reminded of that text in Romans that says His ways are higher than ours and that we feel him instinctly in our being

hmmmmm
God is always there.when we sleep, eat,go out.he keeps us from those accidents we don't see.once i had a really scary dream, woke up to read my bible and he just said it."i am with u always.do not be afraid of the terror by night-psalms 91".that was it.and i slept like a baby.he's my best friend.am so open with him.
Princessa...yessss...no statement can compare o :)
Oluwadee...u're reminding me of how a lot of us say the Name of Jesus unconsciously...and the people who say His Name are not necessarily Christians, but when faced with a storm, that's the first Name that comes out of their lips. And there is power in His Name. The bible says that "at the sound of the Name of Jesus, every knee shall bow..." And the sound of His Name does not have to come from believers, yet once spoken the winds obey...and even those who do not believe begin to do so...
Jinta...indeed there is!
TheAfrobeat...wow. Thank God!
Jarrai...I love one thing u said: "His guidance is even greater in times when we push Him away." Wow, this God we serve...His ways are not our ways. The way He loves us is beyond comprehension.
Kafo...best believe I'm gonna be checking those scriptures out!!!! Thank u so much! Ha ha ha...in the midst of singing this song, I was thinking abt how I love Jeremy. The way he worships God is so transparent that anyone listening feels the presence of God so strong. This rendition of My Desire is HOTTTTTTTT!!!!! You're so right...I've been listening to it all day...ha ha ha. (Esp the beginning, the lyrics are very deep).
Shalewa...I totally feel what u're saying because I've experienced it too...lol...sometimes I feel like God is spying on my mind, while I'm yet thinking of something, He reveals it to me through either His word (scriptures) or through a random person...mostly it's thru an unexpected source...lol. For instance when I was reading abt Paul's experience in the market-place (as stated in this post), I went downstairs and my friend went into a whole discussion of how people don't know God because they choose to run away from knowing Him (she was watching Oprah Winfrey talk abt "finding a light within urself and abt how there's no such thing as one God, that God can be found everywhere...and so many other things). And guess what, to me it was a confirmation to talk abt this topic here...I had been wanting to do it ever since, but that was just an extra push from God. :)
Very Inspirational. I do think a lot about God and I know He is everywhere.
Are you a pastor or something?
Standtall...how r u doing? Yes, He is everywhere (even when we're unconscious of that fact). Oh no, I'm not a pastor...he he...
