Your Life is Already Happening...

It was like a prize to be unraveled. She tore the wrap like a vehement child and smiled at the golden prize. She quickly threw the toffee into her mouth, for fear of any friend snatching it away from her. She was 21, but loved toffee like the best thing since sliced bread and butter. She then proceeded to scramble for a pen and paper in her knapsack, while at the same time reclining on the brown leather couch.

"I must not forget the details of the dream," she muttered underneath her breath. It happened so fast...the dream. She began to jot down the parts she could remember. In the dream, she was an interior decorator. She was decorating her mansion...the one that was always in her dreams. She saw two little kids running up and down the stairs. She also saw a tall man, maybe that was her husband. Good stuff, he was good looking. In the dream, she was also an architect. She smiled...she must have been stinky rich already...too hot to handle! Oh, yes...she remembered traveling first class to Zimbabwe. She was visiting an orphanage there. On arrival, she met with the owner and declared her intent to donate $1,000,000. "Oh, Lord...I was blessed in the dream..." she whispered...

But her life was already happening! She was already blessed!
.
It is good to dream, for if you have no dreams you have no vision. It is good to think, for what good is your mind if it cannot think? As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. You are all you will ever dream about. You are all your mind will ever dare to think. You are emotionally set to dream big. Your mental capacity has been given to you by a God who created you in the image of Himself. You have the MIND of Christ.

But your life is ALREADY happening. You are already BLESSED! Yes, in the little you have, you are blessed. Your life is unfolding as you are reading this blog. It is happening even at the second you stop reading and walk away from the screen. Your life is happening right now. So, the things you are involved in NOW will determine the future. Yes, you can dream big and have great visions. But DILIGENCE is the issue #1 today. The things that are in your hands right now are sufficient for the day, and they require your diligence. If you're working hard with your little visions now, God will give you bigger visions. He who is faithful in little, God will bless him with more (Luke 19:16-17).

So I dare you to live your life NOW. Your life is already happening. Be intimate with God now, not later. Give alms to the poor now, not later. Be a role-model to your friends now, not later. Help the helpless right now, not later. Start writing your book now, not later. Start writing the details of your first business now, not later. Start getting your first millions now, not later. You have the desire, start working on it right now. Start flying in the economy class to orphanage homes now, not later. Start what God spoke to you now, if it is in your power to do so. In doing so, you are sowing seeds for your future. For do not be deceived, whatever a man sows, that is what he shall reap. Some wait a million years, and the time never comes. Like Kelly Clarkson sang, in a moment like this...some people wait a lifetime. Don't wait a lifetime because your life is already happening. Sadly so, tomorrow isn't sure. The very breath of your existence should be relevant to your generation NOW, not later...
.
Let no one despise your youth...but be an example in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1 Timothy 4:12).

**Eyes in a Different World**

They looked across the street and saw her laughing like a lunatic. Who was this wretched woman? She laughed when those around her cried. She jumped high when those around her fell flat to dodge the stray bullets. She said "Yes" when others said "No," and then said "No" when they were in the affirmative. She was an unusual woman. Yes, it was a different world to her. There could not be any sensible earthly explanation for the way she viewed the world. She saw alien forms and unfamiliar expressions. She saw lights at the end of several dark tunnels, and she saw destruction in places where people saw pleasure. How could these things be?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
But there are three kinds of eyes...

The Eyes That Can't See:
.
They are not physically blind. They sparkle like the stars, brightly seen even in far distances. They are the first ones to get on a crime scene, and the last ones to leave. They can see everything under the sun, both those that are open and those that are secret. But they lack one thing, they cannot see the things of God. They cannot fathom anything beyond the human imagination. They are eyes that can see, but yet cannot really see. They fulfill scripture which says, "they have eyes but cannot see."

The Lustful Eyes:

These are eyes that have been given spiritual understanding, but yet lust after those things that are opposing to God's nature. I was reading 1 John 2:15-16 today, and it said, "Do not love the world or the things in the world...for all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world." But immediately, my mind did not go to things we lust after, like lusting after another woman or man other than your spouse...instead my mind took me to eyes that lust after things that have no spiritual background. See, we were born to overcome all limitations. We were born to take the kingdom of God by force. Before mankind, the earth was without form or void, destroyed by the forces of darkness. But then, God in His infinite wisdom created man in His own image to have dominion over the whole earth. But if we're not careful, our eyes may start lusting after those things that we're supposed to have dominion over. Rather, if our eyes are focused on the kingdom of God, then those things will run after us.

Eyes That See Differently: Eyes of Understanding
.
We all need eyes of understanding. For this very reason, Paul prayed for the people that the "eyes of their understanding be enlightened," (Ephesians 1:18). Our eyes are not merely for physical sight, but they are for spiritual sight. Have you ever wondered why when you close your eyes to pray, you can still see...but then you see the things of God and not physical things? It is because at that moment your eyes of spiritual understanding are being enlightened.

Eyes that see differently can see calmness in a storm. They can see a king in a pauper, food in a famine, shelter in the storm, and peace in the time of war. Eyes that see differently can never accept fate, given by human discretion. They can never accept the economy of present situations. Rather these eyes look back at the valley of dry bones, and immediately they know any valley can be restored back to life. Oh, if you have eyes that see differently you will know what I mean. You can only see differently if you truly KNOW who you are. A prince who has not yet been crowned will only act like a slave child. But when that crown is on his head, he begins to see things differently. If you don't know that you are the child of a king, you will never be a storm stopper or a wind-breaker! You cannot know the extent of your power until you begin to see things differently from how the world sees things.
.
Today, may your eyes of understanding be enlightened. May you begin to comprehend what others don't understand. May you see your present situation as nothing compared to the good plans God has for you. May your eyes be open to see how God enlarged the territory of Jabez, how He raised the dry bones in the valley, how He provided manna for food, and milk and honey for drink.

***********************
I'm delighted to be done with final exams and be back on the Lamp. I personally want my eyes of understanding, of every aspect of God's word, to be enlightened more and more each day, from now henceforth. I don't want a mediocre visualization of the Word. There's LIFE awaiting those who need it. I need LIFE, I need understanding, and so do you...let the film start rolling now...are you ready?

Absent cette semaine...

Dear Blog readers,
.
I'll be missing in action for the rest of the week. I've got a major exam and project coming up. I'll miss my baby (the Lamp) and your beautiful comments. Just thought I'd share what I've been up to.
.
Even as you meditate on previous writings, may God fill your mouths with laughter and increase you on every side. May nothing cause you to believe that God is not there...because He is! Until next week...ciao!!! :)

***Left-Overs in the Wind***

The wind blew them away. Tiny crumbs of bread, each one less than the size of a grain of sand. They were once a whole loaf. They were at a banquet, served by waiters to princes and princesses. But somehow they got disenfranchised, deprived of their citizenship to the whole loaf of bread. They fell to the ground, yet the people were unaware. They lay there in silent darkness. No one bothered about them. No one looked under the table in sheer curiosity. They just lay there in silence until the banquet was over. Oh, how they never anticipated the next woeful treatment. For the first time in their 'bread-life' they felt the touch of a broom. They felt pricks sharper than needles enveloping them into a cloud of dust. They were gathered together into twelve baskets and thrown right in the middle of the town square. Then the wind came...and they were dispersed...

****************************

"There was famine in the land...then a man came from Baal Shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. And Elisha said, "Give it to the people, that they may eat." But his servant said, "What? Shall I set this before one hundred men?" He said again, "Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the Lord: 'They shall eat and have some left over.' So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord." 2 kings 4: 38, 42-44

God never gives in exact amounts...in addition to material things He says, "my grace is sufficient for you." There will always be something extra. The psalmist says "my cup runneth over." God gives joy, laughter, and satisfaction in abundance. Some of the water overflows, and some of the crumbs fall to the ground as left-overs. But we tend to forget all about our left-overs. When Jesus fed 5,000 people, his disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. Every time God performs a miracle, there are always some left-overs to take home.
.
Our left-overs are the fragments of laughter that remain after a testimony. They are pieces of joy from past experiences. Healed sores from a ghastly accident, broken pieces of clay glued together again, and colorful pieces of our memories. We hardly ever look back to see what God has done for us. We are always concerned with the here and now. But there's joy in picking up our left-overs...
.
Two days ago I had beads of sweat coming down my face. What I had been expecting in my mail had not yet come and the deadline had arrived. How was I going to solve this situation? I looked to the West, East, and South...but there was no solution. I made phone calls to several people, but there was no solution. It was just impossible to start my internship because the authorization I needed to start hadn't yet arrived. There was no solution. Yet, the deadline was here. The time was now, but my feet were planted and I could not move. How could I miss this opportunity?
.
After a while, I shrugged my shoulders. I began to remember my fragments of joy. Past testimonies where God showed up. My God came and was not silent! He's performed miracles for me before, so hey if He felt now was the right time to intervene, I bet myself that He would. Those fragments of joy from my past were my left-overs. I may not have my testimony now, but I have my memory. If He could do it for me then, He can definitely do it again. Lol. There is no gate that will not open when the King of Glory is coming in. As soon as they anticipate His arrival they will remove their locks and split open.
.
See, no one would look under the table for your own left-overs. You have to remember them yourself. You are the only one that can stretch out your hands and find those crumbs. You can tantalize your memory to see your past testimonies. It is not the end of the matter. If God has done something for you before, what makes you think He cannot do it again? He will come just at the right time...not one second early or one second late. But just in time. Soon enough, our stories will be told to the Nations. Stories that illustrate how the left-overs became whole loaves of bread.
.
Don't forget your left-overs. They will give you JOY while you're patiently waiting for the next answer to come. If He has done anything for you before, He can do this one too. Just hold on. Even if you can't feel the ropes.
