The Mark:

Bosun ran down the aisle with tears streaming down her face. She was searching for what she believed she could only find by a divine miracle. Searching for "the mark", the rare distinguished anointing...that thing that shakes people right down to their bone marrows. On her way to the alter, she saw a man kneeling down to pray, perambulating from side to side, with arms raised towards the heavens. Surely, he must have what she's searching for, what she didn't have...the mark. He seemed so pleased and saturated with his heart's desires. He was laughing and speaking in tongues at the same time. Surely, she must touch even the hem of his garment...

As she was running to touch his white shirt, she saw another woman. She was running around the sanctuary...praising the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Her shouts could be heard all the way to the back of the building...even without a microphone. Shouts of delirious praise, and she danced along...dancing to her freedom and victory. Surely, this woman must have the mark too. She seemed like a righteous person.
.
Little did she notice the teenage boy at the corner, hidden in the shadows, not wanting to be seen. He was silent, watching all the drama that was unfolding right before his eyes. He wasn't participating in the jubilee, neither did he seem to be moved. All that was in his heart was, "Lord, please forgive me...for I have sinned. Do it one more time Lord, forgive me again. I won't go back anymore" But that same night, he received "the mark" too...he received the full anointing of a forgiven sinner, because immediately he uttered those words, the blood of Jesus wiped out the stains from his clothes...and his talents were revealed to the kingdom of darkness.

*************************************************

Do you have an anointing (the mark of God on your life)? Something tells me that in my generation, the youth are lost. They are waiting for someone to lay hands on them so that they can catch the anointing. Waiting for a sign, maybe the sign of Jonah. Waiting for a pastor, a deacon, a righteous person to welcome them...yet, none is righteous by works alone. But what they do not know is that the anointing is already inside a forgiven person...it does not matter whether you were forgiven last night...or even early this morning. You carry within you greater works than Jesus had. It's inside of you.

Don't look to others for solutions to your problems. Speak the word yourself. Move the mountains yourself. Captivate what needs to be captivated, and free what needs to be liberated. You have been forgiven, now you are a king in the kingdom...you can do and undo...you can make and break. You can now operate according to the principles of God. Yes, you have it within you...you have the mark. Don't doubt it!

*And if you think you don't have what it takes, right now receive it...open your heart, ask for your Father's hands to guide you into the right and true path, ask Him to erase yesterday's sins and pain...and He will come into your heart, and He will ANOINT you too. Welcome to the family.*
.

1 John 2:12-13, 20-21 "I write to you little children, because your sins are forgiven you, for His Name's sake...I write to you young men, because you have overcome the wicked one...but you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it..."

PS: "The mark" in this context stands for "the anointing."

I like Funm's comment. We do search for things that are already within us. And sometimes, we wanna go by the beat of other's people's drums, instead of ours. We should dance to our own music and no one else's

Chukbyke...you sound very knowledgeable...I don't even know the words of the late Pope Giovanni Poalo II...thanks...

Rita...forgiveness is really a deep issue. People cast themselves away when God has not done so Himself. It's no wonder why God decided to use the most flawed people throughout the entire book of His Word...(so that we can understand the concept). David was an adulterer, Paul was a murderer, Rahab was a prostitute, Hosea married a prostitute...even when she cheated on him many times...ahhhh! I could go on...God can use anyone, and He can dwell in anyone that changes their heart and begins to accept God's love and focus on Him. :)

Reverence...I don't like it too boo...oya smile naw...let's try to NOT phone tag anymore...*big grin*

Funms...I tell ya...that's a fantastic way to say it...

Vera...many of us need to start dancing to our own music...very true. This scripture comes to mind, Acts 17:26 "And He has made from one blood[a] every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings..."

Kafo...LOLLLLLLL...u're welkie (I'm glad u like this version).

Afronuts...yes, anointing does break the heavy yoke...and this anointing is very accessible to everyone whose eyes are on God...

Aloted...Amennnn...:)

Yes oh…That is how I feel when I go into today’s churches…That is why I still prefer a quiet worship time when I can quietly speak with God…tell him its me again, I know I said I wouldn’t but I did…please help me stop…do you see this happening in a place where ppl are yelling and screaming??? Not to talk of those falling!!!

Jennifer A. said...

LG...cheers too dear

Afrobabe...hey dearie. Many a times, we need to SHOUT and give a LOUD VOICE to our emotions concerning God, and that is what God wants us to do too...stemming from examples such as shouting so that the walls of Jericho (our enemies) will fall down...(Psalm 98:4 says, "Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises"). So don't get me wrong, I myself am a SHOUTER...if you come to my church you will see me loose myself in sweet abandon, shouting in crazy praise to my King of Kings...I believe in shouting. Therefore, that being said, the main aim of the message was to say that the anointing of God is not only for those who people see and esteem as holy and righteous, because there is no one existing on earth who is righteous, we are only righteous because the righteousness of Christ is wrapped around us. Therefore, even someone who was forgiven only this morning can receive the FULL anointing and blessings of God...

But I do get what you're saying about a noisy environment...yes, the major thing is that you find that place of worship where the Word of God is preached and where you can speak and worship God in free abundance (without any distraction). Although, I will emphasize that the reason people loose themselves in church sometimes is because the message hit them in the right spot, or God touched them and healed them of an emotional or physical turmoil...and they can't just help but shout. Or sometimes you even see people crying...

Now, taking my focus away from you Afrobabe, I think a lot of people would rather go to a quiet church where only the priest/pastor speaks, because honestly they don't want the complications. But I want all of us to remember what happened on the day of Pentecost. The disciples were gathered in the upper room and when the Holy Spirit visited, the people began to speak in strange tongues and many lives were saved that day. Also, the bible says that in the "presence" of God there is LIBERTY. God speaks when His presence is manifested in a place, He speaks to the people present and to their situations...and people will begin to cry, jump, or shout if they are deeply moved. In a restricted environment, this is not possible.

One gigantic problem is that there are a lot of fake ministers out there (in all these modern-day churches). Ministers that will want to push your forehead until your legs are almost broken so that you MUST fall...ministers that seek for their personal gain, and not for the gain of the believers in their churches. There are also those type situations as well...that's why this post is also necessary to let my generation know that God can be found by everyone...independently. When we cry out to Him, He will hear from heaven and answer us...

PS: Afro darling, I didn't know when I started typing a whole book (lol), but I felt an urgent need to clarify what I was trying to say in this post. Hope my thoughts have been aligned in the right manner, because sometimes as human beings we don't say/write things exactly the way we're thinking them. You're a darling, and I love your brutal honesty :) Muah!

Afrobabe said...

wow, u certainly weren't kidding when you said u wrote a book for me..lmao..

No, I understood what ur message was..but going further to personify it (for myself of course) I saw myself as the teenager in the corner, not the woman screaming and crying...

There are different ways of worship....for me its the silent one where I feel I am not putting on a show but crying silent tears to the Lord,I believe in testifying to God's goodness in my life by shouting it out and telling one and all but I also beleive in kneeling down in his presense and just listening...can you hear anything in the midst of shouting?? No, once in a while we need to just kneel down and listen..

see how u have turned me into a pastor oh...

There are many ways of praising God and indeed many ways to him. Well...that's what I now believe. God in me teaches me to dance to my own music and no one else's...even in Blogville.

But it's sad that people do judge even when they are silent...sad for them. I would live my life and be judged by no one except God in me.

Ah Jaycee your your piece takes me back to secondary school. I was in J.S. 2 then and was so keen to spk in tongues. Some girls said that if someone else who could spk in tongue laid hands on us, and we kept saying lilililili then we would eventually spk in tongue. So after school that day we chose an empty classroom and started o. We were they for like 30 minutes shouting lililililili but nothing happened until the school authorities got wind of it and took us away. It wasn't funny cos they thot we were witches and had to conduct deliverance for us...hahahahaha!

You're so right about this article cos a few years later, all I had to say was God forgive me and fill me with your spirit and I started to pray in tongues. The pastor could get me to stop until 6 hours later...I literally collapsed in the power. Everyone was stunned cos this was me the disco girl God indeed is no respecter of persons.
