It was the Perfect Symphony:

On my last post "What if Málà Chicken was the Word of God?", I said there'd be a guest blogger this Friday. Turns out that it won't be until next week Friday after all (so get ready).

That being said, I have something very interesting for you today. You may need head-phones to hear it very clearly (it sounds great with head-phones).

This sketch is based on a post I once wrote titled: "Symphony"

Scene: I describe my experience at an orchestra, and I align this experience to having a relationship with God. I make a claim that being a "friend" of God is like a "perfect symphony" (Definition of Symphony: Harmony of sounds/agreement)

"Today, my charge is that you become someone who is in such perfect symphony with God, like the musical instruments in a 100-membered orchestra; a friend of God, not just His robot."

Have you ever been to an orchestra? Have you ever witnessed such symphony?

Video inspired by Rebecca Woodhead's Blog.

Wow...to know that God's plan was not for me to be His robot or servant but his friend, walking in perfect symphony with him "so that people will not be able to tell the difference between God's mind and mine"...just like Abraham...Enoch. (Psalm 103:7)
Hmmm...to be able to come to a place where i can confidently say...I knew he would do this, or that's typical of Him...

But again, doesn't that take away the mystery of who God really is? Aren't his ways beyond finding out? (Rom 11:33)

Thanks for this!

Hmmn...

Honestly... I think my life is not yet in perfect symphony with God.. I have work to do...

Perfect symphony...makes sense. In harmony, in agreement!!
Time to be more than just a robot :)

@Favor's heart...I like the point you've raised. When I think about it, completely knowing a friend does not erase the mystery around that friend. It will make us know that friend's character, but the friend can still do something unexpected that you never planned for. Kind of like a whimsical surprise...yes, you're very correct..."His ways are beyond finding out." (Rom 11:33). Wow, thanks for adding that.

@Harry...don't we all? We can take one more step each day to be in symphony with Him. Baby steps...

@Blogoratti...yeah, it's time to be more than just a robot.

Hope you guys liked the video. You can make yours too by visiting the xtranormal.com website :)

@ Favor's heart, you got the words right out of my mouth. i couldn't help but remember that God called Abraham His friend, their friendship was such a remarkable one and if i may borrow your words jaycee 'a perfect symphony'. a friend is one who is willing to share their secrets with you, (the secrets of the Lord is with them that fear Him and He would show them His covenant- psalm 25:14). God shared His secrets with Abraham and if He has shared some of His secrets with you, then i believe you are worth being called a friend of God. i may not have it all together but i know am His friend.
Great post.
i wrote something of late, you can read it off from http://jonazchara.blogspot.com/2010/03/he-knows.html

Hey Jaycee...

This post is so timely. So, I play the guitar, and recently my friends and I were all playing together (not in an orchestra but with various instruments). Its such a beautiful friendship and we did a Bible study on that.

The lines of one of my favourite songs say 'STRUM YOUR CORDS OF MERCY, BREATHE LIFE INTO ME and THIS INSTRUMENT WILL SING'

@RainyJoy, I liked that through your comment you illustrated that friends share secrets. How many times do we call up our friends on the phone to tell them the "latest gists" about our lives? If we are God's friends, He will reveal secret things to us. I'm going to check your post out now...

@Nakedsha, you play the guitar? Talent in da house!!! I like. People in music may understand 'symphony' a tad bit more. I don't know how to play any instruments...lovely!

I liked the message but i have to confess that I was distracted at some points by the video. That was a nice touch too. I will go check them out.

I like that analagy alot. When we are in His will it truly is a beautiful thing. The complexity and simplicity of it astounds me.

Would two walk together if they don't agree? I want to walk with HIM,& be HIS friend. That is my utmost desire.

@Michael...one of God's mysterious traits = Simplicity + Complexity. It makes me even want to know Him more...*sigh*

@Nitty-gritty...I'm with you on that one!!!

@GoHard...glad you enjoyed the selection. I usually switch it up sometimes, depending on the blog posts on the main page. To live a life of "praise" is a great culture...

NICE approach! Like it :) Yup, we are indeed his friends, sons, co-heirs in Christ! Always so refreshing to be reminded of this.

Jaycee, first of all, I'd like to applaud the concept. Lovely!

This post remind me of David and Jonathan. The bible referred to the love between them (as friends) as that strong as between a man and a woman. Perfect Symphony. Jonathan knew about David's anointing, yet, he was loyal to him knowing that the consequence of it is his father being dethroned somehow.

Imagine such friendship between a life and God's? I covet that obviously as I am not there yet. Thank you Jay.

That was sweet Jaycee! Words of wisdom from a friend of God. I had to smile though - the voice did sound a bit 'robotical' :)

I think my relationship with the Lord is so special and sweet - because I do look at Him as my friend. Not sure I have the mind of Christ - but the potential is there because He's more a part of me than I am of myself.

That 'fleshy' part pushes to speak its mind often enough. And they aren't the words that the Lord would speak. But, thankfully, the Lord has His own sweet way of bringing it to my attention!! :) He's never condemning but very humble and forgiving.

I like the way He conducts every part of me to bring my body , mind, and spirit under His lead. I'm not afraid to miss a note or blow my horn when I should have played the violin. You know - He works with me - I learn from those messed up parts. I try harder to get it right - because my life 'sings' in sweet sweet harmony when I'm in sync with His lead.

I'm so excited to hear our heavenly music when we get to the otherside!! Aren't you?

Thanks Jaycee,

Hugs, Patrina <")>><

@Mwajim...I was glad to be reminded as well when I read about this...we're not just robots, we have a respectful position in God's eyes...

@LDP...we'll all work on it together. Glad you mentioned David and Jonathan's relationship as a reference...yes, a friendship btw one life and God's is even so much better.

@Patrina...LOL. I was thinking the same thing too...she sounded like a robot, and she was supposed to be saying we're not robots. What an irony! You said, "I'm not afraid to miss a note or blow my horn when I should have played the violin. You know - He works with me - I learn from those messed up parts. I try harder to get it right..."

And I say...being in symphony with God is not about "not making mistakes," I think it's something more...don't you think? Thanks Patrina...:)

wow.. liked the concept.. and the content... sometimes, perfect symphony in this context feels like an abstraction to me though...
